What if archival producers had their own professional software tools?
Back in 2023, I asked myself a simple question: What if archival producers had software tools built specifically for us—
something like the popular software packages for editors and photographers?
That question became ArchivaPro.

The dilemma I couldn't shake
As I started developing this concept, artificial intelligence was exploding everywhere. I found myself caught in a moral
dilemma: How do we leverage technology to improve our work while honoring our traditions?
Archivists and archival producers tend to be the purists of the industry. We reject technologies that interfere with historical
accuracy and the validity of history-making. We embrace genuine, time-tested practices.
Would creating tools take away from the validity of the craft? Would it commodify the process—turn it into instant pancake
mix? Would it cause conflict within our community?

Technology moves forward regardless
As time passed, I watched AI bleed into the archival world anyway. Sora. Colorized photos. Archival images brought to life
as videos. The technology is advancing whether we engage with it or not.

The logo is a bookend and a book (not "A.I."—though I appreciate the visual pun). It's a nod to the archival process itself:
the bookend holding everything together, just like the "A" holds the remaining letters between itself and "Pro."

What ArchivaPro actually is (and isn't)
This isn't a solution that integrates artificial intelligence. ArchivaPro apps won't integrate AI. Period.
What it will do: centralize workflows and empower the people who do archival work.

The journey begins
This is the first product: ADM (Archival Download Manager), a Microsoft Edge extension. It's been through over 80
versions across three years of testing and refinement. It renames files, saves metadata and download history, and creates
a database—all within your browser, with instant cataloguing. No tracking. No cloud data storage. No AI.

Looking forward to sharing more updates as we move forward. This first release of Archival Download Manager will be invite-only. Archival Producers will be recieving a link to the Microsoft store.
